2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI

The 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI is the closest most of us will ever get to driving a full-blown rally car. The new STI has been given a number of suspension improvements including stiffer bushings, stiffer springs, and thicker anti-roll bars on both ends of the car. It’s powered by a turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine that produces 305 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque that now blows exhaust through two “meaner and louder” sounding mufflers. The STI also has Brembo Brakes and Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) that’s slightly rear-biased to compensate for the coupe’s ligher rear end. The 2011 STI’s most drastic aesthetic change is the freakishly rally esq rear wing that is in fact functional, in that it improves high speed stability. Note: We included in the gallery a picture of Travis Pastrana testing the 2011 Vermont SportsCar built WRX STI (Full Blown Rally Car) at the ESPN Summer X Games 16. Epic!
