The “Belvedere” design is based on the original Ruby helmet: the “Pavillon”, both featuring a candy painted carbon fiber shell, burgundy padded interior with genuine Nappa Lambskin borders and chrome trim.  The Belvedere addition to the Ruby motorcycle helmet range has the added advantage of an articulated visor that covers the riders entire face; it acts as a pivoting windscreen.  The Belvedere comes with 3 separate visors: one transparent, one smoke and one racing dark.  Ruby has made sure the visor is easy to change… Simply unscrew the metal plates that hold the visor in place, replace the visor and screw the aluminum plates back on. The articulation system allows the rider to open the visor in three positions, plus an extra notch to hold the shield in place at higher speeds.

It seems Triumph has decided to build an adventure bike with cajones! The upcoming Triumph Tiger 800 will be released in 2011 with an currently unnamed on-road variation and the above pictured XC off-road bike. According to Hell For Leather, the Tiger 800 will pack an 800cc version of the Triumph Daytona 675′s engine and should make somewhere in the ballpark of 130 horsepower / 60-70 lb-ft of torque (give or take). It’s going to weigh around 440 pounds and, as you might of guessed, has the BMW F800GS Adventure in its crosshairs for takedown.

Now here is the story behind the bike / horse:
“Otto Komei is three years old. Frequently he is sitting next to the window while watching the chopper gang on the other side of the street customizing and repairing their bikes. Just yesterday the one with the colored arm drove his chopper on the rear wheel down the street. Just as this rat bike Otto is dreaming of. Because he has no drivers license and because of his own room being the only safe district, he needs a hybrid chopper and rocking horse. With this machine he could learn to keep his balance and most of all to sit on it in an easy position. So he closes his eyes and his arms broad. Oldschool-bikes he likes the most with a high handlebar and classic parts like lights and seats with old style. Furthermore, he wants a one-cylinder two-stroke engine with 150 ccm for getting a really nice sound with a short and empty exhaust without a muffler and a skewed ending. The frame should be cantilever and the engine holding well hidden for giving the ride a clean look. At last he definitely wants a pinstripe from German airbrush-artist Thomas Weber as final detail.”

KTM just released their first 125cc street legal sport bike – The Duke. The Duke is powered by a single cylinder, four-valve, overhead cam, liquid-cooled 125 that pops out roughly 15 horsepower and 9 torques. Fun is the name of KTM’s Duke game and their players are most likely going to be first time riders and the younger generation as a whole.

We think the KTM 125 Duke is, in many respects a bike for the times… bare bones and free from all the unnecessary bells and whistles. While it lacks massive power, the Duke compensates with its ultralight weight of 280 pound, throttle response, and a power curve engineered to get the most from riding in an everyday environment. Additionally, the Duke’s engine is built to perform but not forget fuel mileage and clean emissions.

The 125 Duke is the perfect bike for anyone who couldn’t justify buying a torque monster and wouldn’t accept riding a scooter. Now the bad news (if you’re an American). We aren’t on the docket for production. Never fear! Where there is demand, supply will follow.

New BMW K 1600 GT | Designing The Future Of Touring

The K 1600 GT is BMW’s newest addition to their touring class of motorcycles. It’s powered by an inline-6 cylinder that produces an impressive 160 horsepower at approx. 7500 rpm and a maximum torque of approx 175 Nm at approx. 5000 rpm and over 70% of the maximum torque is available from 1500 rpm. The K 1600′s engine also happens to be the lightest production six cylinder to date, weighing just 102.6 kg.

The K 1600 GT comes equipped with BMW’s DTC (Dynamic Traction Control), three separate drive modes (“Rain”, “Road”, “Dynamic”), and Electronic Suspension Adjustment ESA II enabling you to adjust the ride base on the terrain.

The K 1600 GT is the first motorcycles in the world to feature an adaptive xenon headlight. The “Adaptive Headlight” consists of an additional servomotor in the reflector mirror which ensures that the road is illuminated to optimum effect on every bend. The servomotor automatically compensates for the banking angle of the motorcycle while cornering, directing the light cone onto the road at an optimum angle.

Console tech includes satellite navigation that’s integrated into the MP3 playing, iPod supporting audio system. Everything is controlled from the 5.7 inch color monitor. If you didn’t see the pictures, it would be easy to confuse the K 1600′s mighty list of features with one of BMW’s automobiles.
